The main pool is 50-metres long, and generally has two barriers to divide it into three separate areas. It has three depths to cater for a range of aquatic activities. The learner's pool, which is also known as the programmes pool, is where Learn to Swim classes take place. The toddler's pool has two separate areas, to cater for little ones.

The 50m pool is only available to the public Thursday and Saturday 6am-8.30am for lane swimming.

Spray

Spray

Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre's SPRAY is a shallow water play area with an exciting range of water features to give families and children an excellent aquatic experience. With two tidal pools for school-aged children, a dedicated area for toddlers and pre-schoolers and a café and courtyard area - it's fantastic fun for all the family.

  • Toddlers Pool
The Toddlers Pool is a dedicated shallow area for pre-school children. It has interactive water features designed to make water fun for young children and enhance their confidence through play. The water is a warm 33 degrees. For hygiene reasons all toddlers must wear pants/togs that are tight fitting around the legs.  Cloth or disposable nappies are not permitted.  Suitable togs can be purchased at reception if required.
  • Shallow Spray
Shallow spray is a large fun and interactive water playground with a range of spray water features, water cannons and jets to play with.  Watch out - you never quite know where the water is going to spray from next.
  • Deep Spray
The Deep Spray pool has a shallow end of 0.7m and a deep end of 1.1m for swimming and having fun in.  Please note that schools have swimming lessons in this pool on weekday mornings 8am - 1.30pm, making this area limited to the public. The water in both the shallow and deep spray pools is heated to 31 degrees.
  • Opening Hours
Spray will be open daily from 8am-8pm.
